We head into today’s game with a strong desire to bounce back after a performance last weekend that didn’t meet our expectations. We know we’re capable of more and have spent this week focusing on some crucial areas we believe will help deliver a more complete and improved performance, especially compared to our earlier meeting with Roslyn Waikari this season.
Roslyn is a quality young side who’ve had a mix of results throughout the year, but they’re certainly not to be underestimated. With several players involved in New Zealand Secondary Schools selections, we know they bring energy and talent to the pitch.
Weather conditions and the rain we’ve had this week will no doubt influence the surface, so adapting early will be key.
We also take a moment today to celebrate a special milestone. Congratulations to Amelia Newlands on reaching 50 games for Halswell. Even more fitting, she’ll be marking the occasion against her former club.
