Turning Performances into Points
Last weekend’s 2-1 loss to Cashmere Tech Reserves was an unfortunate result for the group. Despite another strong performance and plenty of positive moments throughout the match, we came away disappointed not to have taken something from the game.
The encouraging part is that our football continues to improve week after week. The group is well connected, playing with confidence, and showing real quality in possession. We’ve reached a stage where our performances are consistently competitive, and now the next step is turning those performances into positive results.
Our focus this week has been on being more clinical in front of goal. We’ve created plenty of opportunities in recent matches, and it’s now about taking those chances when they come. Football often comes down to fine margins, and converting those key moments will allow us to put more pressure on our opponents and give ourselves the best chance of collecting points.
This weekend we take on Selwyn, and we’re looking to build on the progress we’ve made throughout the season. If we stay disciplined, trust our game, and execute the basics well, we’re confident we can put in another strong performance and push for the result we know we’re capable of.
