Jato Força United Futsal

Inspired by Brazilian Futsal we are developing a Futsal community to Play, Enjoy and Succeed.

Jato Força (is Portuguese for 'Jet Force') will be based at the Nga Puna Wai (means 'many spring waters') Indoor Sports Centre. The silhouette of a Skyhawk is featured on a futsal ball graphic - a tribute to the Air Force base that once operated in Wigram. The 'waters' are featured in the logo through the '5 waves' at the top of the shield.

We are fortunate to have Marcos Melo on board to work with the club to bring experience and passion to developing a methodology for players at all stages of futsal development.

What is Futsal?

Futsal is a 5-a-side indoor soccer game played on a smaller, hard court. Matches consist of two halves, each lasting 20 minutes. Originating in Uruguay in the 1930s, futsal has evolved globally as a fast-paced sport, fostering close ball control and skill development in a confined space.

Why Futsal?

Futsal is a fast-paced indoor soccer variant played on a smaller court with five players per team. It emphasizes quick passes, close ball control, and skillful plays. Playing futsal enhances a football player's technical abilities, agility, and decision-making due to the confined space, promoting better ball mastery and tactical awareness on the larger football pitch.
